Upcoming class event....

Gday guys,

due to the homecoming of dovi new, shimi ash, and iyh yossi spigler(or so I heard), we want to iy'h organise a class event, in one of the upcoming weeks on a sunday prehaps.

Theres been a few basic ideas being thrown around, I reckon we should go to a park for a barby and some sports/catching up, others prefer other events.....
With times- I prefer sunday arvo, but apparently some of us aren't bums and work, so it ain't good for 'em.
Now the beauty of a blog should come to the fore- PLEASE post your ideas for events, most suitable times for you (nite/day, sunday/weekday) ASAP, so that we can make the best decision liked by everyone....

Thank you, yehuda

Article about Bobom waks

Gday guys, since posting has sort of dried up a bit, and this is relevant to our class, I thought I would post an article link from "The Australian" a few weeks ago about our dear ex-classmate Avrohom Sholom (aka Bobom) Waks (aka Waksy) who is now proudly serving in the IDF(Tzahal).

Tisha B'av

Gday guys I know this is (charectiristically) a bit late notice but I wanted to wish all well over the fast and to use their Tisha B'av as properly as possible.
Basically, just a quick run down on the rules: no eating, drinking, showers, smearing lotion, physical relations, or leather materials worn.

The theme of the day: is mourning and sadness. Therefore we try not to act too happily by sitting on low stools till tommorow arvo and minimise music and freindly greetings. These are just basic laws, there are more do see your 'Jewish code of law' for more info.

So what are we mourning for: 1st and 2nd temple gone, spies sins, spanish inquisition and world war I which led to holocaust.

Not to be confused with: depression, this is not to lead to depression, rather we hope that the Moshiach will come and it will turn into a Yomtov, and therefore some level of inner hope and optimism should pervade our being.

ok guys, all the best and keep up the blogging!!!
